Xerochrysum bracteatum, commonly known as the golden everlasting or strawflower, is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae native to Australia and a member of the daisy family.The golden everlasting has proven very adaptable to cultivation. It was propagated and developed in Germany in the 1850s, and annual cultivars in a host of colour forms from white to bronze to purple flowers became available.

    Super colour ,so vibrant & large, I never was really a flowery person (girly) but happily converted on seing your love & creations make it easy to enjoy Cracking Image Sabine…

  • the flowers are about an inch in diameter…they are useful for making reefs and decorations and last a long time as they dry into straw and don’t lose their colour much
