Alchemilla is a genus of herbaceous perennial plants in the family Rosaceae, with the common name “lady’s mantle” applied generically as well as specifically to Alchemilla mollis. I use the flowers of this herb to make tea.
Alchemilla has been used as a treatment for wounds, gastrointestinal complaints and female ailments. Its tannin content appears to justify astringent and antidiarrheal uses. It may protect conjunctive and elastic tissues and possibly be useful as an antioxidant.
