Goddess Emerging

Ange

Goddess Emerging

  1. Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked).
  1. Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone.
  1. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers.

This has to come close to the most number of comments I’ve seen for a piece and for good reason. The blindfold adds some many possibilites and I really like the way her clothes are draped. And, or course, there’s lots to try to attach meanings to in the ground. For me the overall mood is dark, but sensual and intimate. Very nice.

Hello Ange, I love this. I did favourite it but forgot to leave a comment. I know some people hate that. I can’t really give some theoretical artistic reason why I love it. I can say I love the complexity of the image. I adore the colour (or should I say the lack of colour). It is elegant, sophisticated and, well, just a great piece of art. Best wishes, Michelle.
