Flight of the krill by

Double exposure collaboration with Colleen Boyle.

We each took a roll of colour film that we exposed in our own cameras, rewound the film, and then handed it over to the other one to reshoot in their camera.

Colleen composed her images using a standard SLR camera.

I had a Lomo SuperSampler camera which I set on a 2 second exposure whilst moving the camera round in the general direction of an interesting textural element. I often took a 2 or 3 photos of the same element.

The central panel through which you can clearly see Colleen’s image was created from the space between the frames of my images.

Neither one of us had any idea how these images would turn out, neither in the subject matter that we each photographed nor the alignment of the images.

We were both very pleased with the accidental compositions.

What a fun thing to do!!! Great idea, and great image! If you would forward this to Colleen, too.
