Back in 2000 I was living on a Ski Slope in France. The end of the season was looming and the colour of spring slowly creeping up our brown winter valley. It was a warm clear blue day and I decided to walk down to the original town of Les Orres. On entering the town I saw this old gent busily hand making baskets, it was a great image so I stopped and framed him in my lense and took my photo. He stopped for a second on hearing the click and looked up. When he saw my camera he held out his hand and said, I think, “Sept Franc!” I had nothing, poor ski bum that I was. I’ve always wanted to go back, if I do I’ll give him his money and hopefully he might take a copy of the picture also.
