I am working on a neo-classical project called Mars and Venus which will hopefully be available on red bubble for viewing and melbourne artists in October – November this year.
The theme is to use their works as a base and expand on the sculptures of Canova and thorvaldsen showing Mars and Venus as the central theme (also known as Ares and Aphrodite in Greek myth). These deities often had a intimate yet stormy relationship and were a favourite of the neo-classical artists because they showed strength of arms in one sex and beauty and perfection in the other.
Another idea I’m working on is titled “In the wake of Poseidon” which I’m looking to collaborate with a photographer at present.
Both these are photographic projects.
