The Vale of Belvoir with wild windswept grasslands and sheltered old growth rainforests, lies 17km north of Cradle Mountain, in Tasmania’s north-west.

Purchased by the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) in 2008, the 474ha high-country property is a biodiversity hotspot with a long list of outstanding natural qualities.

The Vale is a place of global significance for its rich and dense marsupial carnivore fauna. The securing of this valley has been described as ‘the Tasmanian conservation triumph of the 21st century’.

I was part of a photography group called Nature Photographers Tasmania who visited the property in 2009.
