Rescue and Target Towing Launch.
As a Royal Air Force crew member I worked on this craft in the Far East in the 60s.
The hull was made of cross ply timber planks. The super of steel. It was powered by two Shackelton aircraft engines. Capable of 40 knots it did, on one occasion, achieve an estimated 70 knots when a guvener failed on one of the engines. Scary ten minutes till three men and the engineer managed to force a metal arm back down.
These beautiful rescue craft became redundant when replaced by helicopters.
If anyone spots a modelling kit I would like to know about it. Thank you.
