Forgive the punning title. This plot or rather valley is the site of an old gunpowder factory. I know tenuous connection.
Kennal Vale is a beautiful and peaceful place. It’s right here in Cornwall and just up the road from me. I often visit for a chill.
When you are in Cornwall do visit as there are so many photo opportunities. Old stone built factory buildings driven by water wheels. Streams are diverted high up along the top edge of the valley which are diverted again down hill to drive the wheels. Such clever engineering.
Lots of trees which kept the valley and the gunpowder moist. They had a second use – to dampen the effects of an accidental explosion.
From Falmouth > A393 to Pomsanooth. Turn left by village shop and up the hill and park by the entrance gate. (Narrow road – park prettely).
