Swanpool Anchorage

WOOOOPEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Gathered enough pennies to buy the long lens. It arrived today. This is my first shot taken at eventide a little after the sun had set.

Hope you like.

Ships anchor here in Falmouth (UK) bay for bunkering or waiting for a space in the ship repair yard. And due to the economic downturn just parked up waiting for a job.

After I left there was a thunder storm. Missed it – grrrrrrr

Well captured Andy. Love that sky.

What lens did you get ??

  • AndyReeve replied

Thank you Richard. Well after hours of research seems the Ziess/Sony was the best buy for my pocket. Appropriate really since I have a Sony A200; keep it in the family.
    Wish you well

beautiful!! looking forward to hearing all about it!

  • AndyReeve replied

See my reply to Richard above also & altho it says 75mm-300mm on the box the write ups said 450mm equivilent. Had to get a photographer to explain that one – my Sony has a small sensor.
Apparently that explained everything as he got on his bike and departed. Altho he did recommened that I keep the lens in it’s box till I purchased a UV protective filter which I did.
Because of the awful weather I had not taken a pic for a while so to feel it’s chunky weight in my hands was a joy. That’s it then; I am a passionate photogrpher. LOL

Beautiful bold contrast and compostion balanced by the strong white cloud.

Thanx Garth. And I am beginning to think that there is something faintly surreal abou this pic. I might take it back into photoshop and have a play.
