This picture was taken at Treasury Gardens Melbourne during the Occupy Melbourne rally on the around 28 October 2011.
The image shows a method of communicating that is often used at these rallies.
That method involves one person saying something and what is said is repeated by another person and then the crowd repeating this. Or something like that.
This method comes from New York where the protestors were banned from using any electronic voice amplification. They came up with this method.
The guy on the left is the main speaker and the guy on the right was repeating what was said to the crowd.
One benefit of using this style of communication is it bonds the demonstrators.
I support the demonstrators and can see they having at least some effect on the political landscape.

excellent photo-journalism – the notes really add to a great shot.
Thanks Geof I think we need a story with these type of pics.
The pics are not bad and sort of interesting but they are newspaper type of shots and that is why the story.

Clever boys! Maybe they should go back to the old acoustic megaphone. People will always find ways of overcoming injustice.
Lol about the accoustic megaphone I have an image of them doing just that Bernard. They are using I think a rolled up poster or something like that
