Samba Dancer by

Image was taken at a Latin American Festival In Brunswick Melbourne.

This girl was dancing samba in the street.

I thought she was stunning

Image was taken with a Canon G9 camera.

My processing was intended to give it a sort of seventies look and color.

good to see she’s still got pulling power, Andrew – very cool catch.

  • She was an absolute stunner mate. About six feet tall as well

Ive got this in Black and White but color does this girl justice.

Thought you were writing that she has a Black Belt – wouldn’t go astray with her configuration.

  • lol Geof.

Sometimes I wish I was younger but if memory serves me correctly I never went out with women as good looking as this even when I was younger.

maybe you are smoother now though – certainly take flattering pictures of the female form.

The girl is very pretty this is true, but what makes the photo (for me) is the group of guys behind her..LOL What a rippa! :))

  • Thanks Di.

I agree with you about the people. A few minutes before we were standing in front of the guys. My thoughts were why not include them and as it happened the image worked.

There is a black and white version of this image. One of the beauties of black and white is it focuses things more on the essence of an image.

In this image I think the color distracts a bit from the story of the guys looking at the girl. But I thought she deserved and image in color, she is color lol.

All the best to you from Andrew

really striking and it tells such a great story here!! How marvelous!!

  • Thanks Yvonca.

A different sort of art to yours. With mine I try and find art in the scenery and action that is going on around me. The art is in the context of photojournalism

The general premise is to compose a picture in the same way as I would draw it. Difficult at times when the subjects are moving.

Here I wanted to include the onlookers to give a story to the picture rather than just a picture of a pretty girl.

Usually I shoot in B & W as color distracts from the story and I have a B & W version of this image posted.

On the other the girl had to have color ah she deserved it. lol
