hi Andy…ummm the explanation of gorden bennett as an exclamation….
from wiki
Gordon Bennett! is an expression or exclamation common in some parts of the United Kingdom that connotes (often exasperated) surprise, annoyance or shock.1
and
James Gordon Bennett, a newspaper baron, liked to announce his arrival in a restaurant by yanking the tablecloths from all the tables he passed. He would then hand the manager a wad of cash with which to compensate his victims for their lost meals and spattered attire. Though long forgotten in his native land, Bennett and his exploits were once world famous, and indeed his name lives on in England in the cry, “Gordon Bennett!”4
how ever just to be more confusing… Gordon Bennet is an extraordinary Aborigianal artist from QLD… google his name and have a look at some of his paintings…. amazing talent….very political and confronting work
but I just looked at this and looked at your avatar and thought….blimey you wouldn’t be wanting to wriggle away from paternity here… he’s the spit of you….:)
HHaHa thanks Juilee. Gorden Bennet I am still smiling ahah.
I will try the term out tonight and amaze them hahah . Much appreciated that.
Funny how our kids look like us and they don’t. My daughter was told she looks like me and she was horrified.
My daughter was told she looks like me and she was horrified.
HAHA lol…must have been the hairdo…… :)
We went to a fish and fish shop and the owner commented on how much daughter no 2 looked like me. Daughter no 1 and no 2 then spent about five minutes discussing why neither of them looked like me.
ah both of them are very pretty. I always tell them their looks came from their mother.
also I went through a phase with my boys when they were much younger and starting to swear a bit… I had to come up with inventive new things to say when I was about to pull my hair out…… you know how it is…..:)
Its a strange paradox that we tell our kids not to talk like adults. I wonder why kids swearing is thought of as worse than adults swearing.
