Photo was taken at rally in support of the Palestinians of Gaza. This rally was in Melbourne
I can’t remember the exact date but it was at the time of operation Cast Lead. I think that was 2009
Image was taken on a Mamiya 645 using TMax 100 film
melbourne, andrew makowiecki, palestine
they look so sad – lovely shot …
Yeh sad and angry, if my relatives were being bombed I would have the same feelings.
Thanks Helen I appreciate your views on my photos.
I like the mono as it reduces the capture to bring out the feeling and emotion of the moment.
Did you get any of the ones carrying signs proclaiming the Nazis had not given them enough in WW2 ??
Though I saw plenty of anti Israeli signs I did not see the ones you refer to. Where were they.
Emotions ran high here in NZ where we held a protest against the Gaza bombings, not sure how much it all achieved, it seems that if the powers that be want to slaughter innocent people, they’ll carry on regardless. Compelling shot.
Yeh protesting won’t stop the bombing but at least it gives the Palestinian’s and others some , moral support. I think being there helps makes them feel that at least not everyone is against them or doesn’t care. Not a big plus but at least a plus.
Thanks for looking Jennifer
Fabulous capture – its always great to have one set of eyes on you, the photographer, and it looks like you got that with the guy in the sunnies.
