Under the Bridge

Andrew Makowiecki

Melbourne, Australia

Artist's Description

The two children are my son and daughter. It was a winters day as you can see from my daughters clothes. The bridge was a small bridge on a gravel road near to the town of Dwellingup. It had been burnt badly in the Dwellingup fires of 1961 and has to this day never been repaired.
The kids were enthralled by the cubby house feel of the place and by the freshwater crayfish in the water.
Photo was taken with a Pentacon Six an old East German medium format camera with lovely slightly soft uncoated lenses.
