Below Decks on the Dunbrody, New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland by

AF-S Nikkor 18-35mm 1:3.5-4.5D

The Dunbrody is a replica of a 19th century “famine ship”, which carried Irish immigrants fleeing the famine across the atlantic to America. The ship acts as a visitor centre in New Ross, here a guide explains to an enthralled group the harsh life of the voyages.

The directional light adds drama to this Andrew and the movement of the guide gives it a sense of realism.

  • Thank you Roger, the shaft of light came down from the hatchway to the deck and I just liked the way it illuminated this little group. The guide was good at illustrating the horror of these voyages!

great shot, you got the people sitting there very sharp, my shots here didn’t come out so good. Love the blur on the guide.
