Jolie Brise is a gaff-rigged pilot cutter built and launched in Le Havre in 1913. After a short career as a pilot boat, she became a fishing boat. she was refitted and won the first Fastnet race in August 1925. After cruising the Mediterranean, she was requisitioned by the Royal Navy who laid her up for the duration of the war. After the war and a brief name change to Pleasant Breeze, she was repaired, refitted and relisted as Jolie Brise. For nearly 30 years her home port remained Lisbon, until 1975 when she returned to the Solent.
