I love the great history of shipbuilding in Ireland.
The great White Star Ocean Liners of the early 1900’s were built in Belfast…. fascinating.
This is a very beautiful and atmospheric photo Andrew: she is at peace now after her many years of hard work. May I ask; when was the last voyage of the Port Lairge ?
She was a dredger working in Waterford harbour right up to the early 1980s and the last steamship working in Ireland.

The open water to the boat’s left emphasises its loneliness and sad state which is why this picture works so well – extremely effective in bw.
