An exceptional example of a megalithic portal tomb. Two tall portal stones form the entrance to a stone-lined burial chamber, which is roofed by two massive stone slabs, the larger of which is at a steep angle. Known locally as Leac an Scail it is sited above the tributary waters of the River Suir. Probably built by neolithic farmers about 6000 years ago.
Kilmogue is from the Irish *Cill Mhog* Church of Mog.
