A quick trip to deepest Somerset found me at the Ashton Windmill on an area of high ground called “Isle of Wedmore".
The storm clouds overhead had just opened up and although I was drenched the camera was bone dry thanks to a recently purchased rain cover replacing the now tatty and torn shopping carrier that I had carried around with me and used on occasions.
I was indeed looking for a rainbow after the sudden rain flurry and delighted when two of them appeared, so pleased to have captured this image.
And now for a little history……. The earliest known reference to a windmill at Chapel Allerton was in 1317, the one before you now was constructed between 1760-1774, and stopped working in the 1920’s
