TREE OF LIFE – JOHN JACKA

While at your earth base I lay, I gaze and stare upward,
Looking upon each of your branches as they all reach towards heaven,
Some may grow strong and straight towards the skies,
Yet others they twist and turn almost at sixes and sevens.
Each branch shares as common, one most foremost goal,
To reach for the light and make certain its survival,
Calling to heaven with arms outstretched,
Endeavouring escape from dark earth they fetch.
So I gaze upon all of you all reaching toward the light,
By the day you may yearn the warmth of the suns ray,
By night some will rest from growth, pliant with fear,
When the rain falls, its drops from some will fall from them like tears.
All ye branches seem so bold and strong,
Yet others are but still like twig yearning to grow long,
Some may grow and others will fail and fall,
But this tree of life will continue to grow forever tall.
We are each just but a branch, on a tree of life,
Each of us do seek the nourishment of the heavens light,
Some live hoping to avoid violent demise,
By an evening storm’ chance lightning strike.
Reaching upward with our roots below earth,
From the muck and darkness from whence we all saw birth,
Competing with each other for the same precious light,
Then we huddle together when darkness comes from the black of night.
We all come from commonality, each of us of the same earth,
All of us born from roots shared from our birth,
Is rebirth possible without releasing from this tree?
Without falling back to ground and by re-emergence of new seed,
So come with me and release your fear,
Let go and fall with me to mother earth as new seed,
From new beginnings we will create a new tree of life,
And grow together and share in her ever abundant light.
Fresh new beginnings to be found by falling,
To Our Mother, the Goddess known as Earth,
You and I will become as one again,
In newly created emergence of joyful, fresh re-birth.
You and I can form our new tree with its branches straight and strong,
In the light we’ll share equally, together we will live long,
Our roots as one, our love combined for the earth our mother,
Living and growing as one tree with its branches in harmony with each other.
