The other side of tourist trail, VoW by

VoW, Valley of the Waters – Magical place in the Blue Mountains, NSW! Rough rocks, ferns, moss, streams, fallen trees, this place has it all! Not an easy walk. Most tourists stop at Silvia Falls. Yesterday I got few scratches trying to get to the rough side of the creek, fortunately no serious damage to the environment! Here I really like dead branches at the right bottom of the frame, at first I thought of them as a distruction, but he more I look the more they add to the hostility of the scene, like some alien machines from some 70s sci-fi movie..

Plese view large, thank you for looking!

Wow Tanya.. this is a really stunning image! I think I agree with you re: the dead branches… : ))

  • Thank you Jenny! Really glad that you appreciated that image! If you only knew how I got down there – I was trying to get down to the creek on the opposite side of where you and I shot last year. The rock under my foot gave way and I slipped almost two mwtres down almost vertical slop, lucky escape, must admit! Only got few (big!) scratches, sore body and the camera in one piece. Fortunately I took it off the tripod and put in the bag fearing something like that :-))

I like your comp Tatiana.I know what you mean by distraction, but this shot shows how the landscape & areas of the mountains can truelly be. It’s hard, in some places not to have the branches & dead debris included in the frame. It adds a depth as well & displays how things are when mans Hand has no place here
