A week ago Ken Duncan hosted a Free masterclass work shop at Soldiers beach on the NSW Central Coast Australia. Over 200 people turned up to listen and shoot.
With so many people it was hard to find a spot that was not filled with people. I eventually found several places to shoot by walking out into the water. Knowing the tripod will sink I found a small outcrop of rock to support the tripod. The sun was setting and the sky glow was amazing.
The image shot with a NIkon D3s using the 16-35mm lens. The lens was set at f16 and an exposure of 1 second. the ISO was set at 100. I was using a 3 step graduated ND filter to control the sky brightness. I waited for just the right combination of wave and lighthouse light to catch the shot.
