I had a the job of shooting a Wedding on the 8th October 2011 for a friend in my photography Club. One of the things that I have done in the past for significant days for people is get up early and shoot the Sunrise. This particular day had one of the worst sunrises in a LONG time. the sky didnt play. I tried again at about 8.30am and got a few decent shots. During the reception at the perfect time (Dinner) the sky opened up and really gave a good show. the reception was at Killcare Beach and I decided to give it one more go.
I have decided that this will be the memory shot I include in the Wedding Portfolio.
Shot with a Nikon D3s using the 16-35mm f4 VR lens set at f20 and .8 second exposure. a split ND filter helped control the sky. I waited for the wave to approach to give the fan shape on the beach.
