During our recent trip to Barrington Tops we took a day to drive around the Williams and Allyn rivers. Along the Allyn river rd is a swimming hole called Ladies Well. It is one of the prettiest places we found in the Barrington region and we had it all to ourselves. I chickened out of going for a swim as I found it to cold but my wife Miriam did go in. This is the lower pool which is a little harder to get to as it is a slogg across slippery rocks and rainforest. This is a Panoramic image made from 2 shots taken with a Nikon D300 using the 18-200VR lens. Both images were processed from RAW in CS3 and then stitched.
Oh Andrew this brings back memories! My dad never took us to the beach, he always took us to the bush on hot days and this was one of our favourite spots. We would all just sit in this beautiful well … we were oblivious to the heat of the city. I’ve got goose bumps looking at this … another spot I must go back to. Thank you for a beautiful image of this magic spot!
Glad to bring back ahppy memories for you. Your must have been braver than me as I would only go up to my knees. I am thinking about doing another tour up there as it is still quite close for photography. may be get a few people together and rent one of the big cabins at Barrington retreat near Dungog
Nice one Andrew, lovely spot to watch the world go by! Cheers Mick
Your not wrong Michael, the day goes by wonderfully slow actually. Just a stunning place and thinking about going back in the new year to take more images. Maybe get a few people together for a weekend.
