Have wanted to try this image of the rusting chain links fence at Newcastle Beach for a while and I had my oportunity on Friday the 28th August afternoon. I wanted to get the 3 rings inside each other, but the slight curve they follow didn’t allow for it. This was the closest I could get.
Image taken with a Nikon D300 and the 18-70mm lens. To get the depth of filed I used the lens wide open at f3.5.

Wow this is a real departure from your usual style, I like it very much (and your usual style too, of course)!

  • Yes I wanted something different. It walmost looks like a stage shot, not from real life. Just the slight tone was my wife’s idea and a good one I think. Thanks Mandy.

    Excellent depth and textures!

  • Wasn’t sure at the time if the image would work but very happy with the result. The textures are what has it for me as well.
