A place to rest.
Another shot of the churchyard at Ripley, North Yorks.
Ok, so it’s not the most cheerful of shots but I like it. :) The title is quite apt as, apart from the obvious, this is where I stopped to rest my weary feet and have a spot of lunch.

I find so much peace & comfort in cemeteries. Yes…they are sad places, sometimes, but I find solace among the dearly departed. great capture.

very moody and well photographed.

Strong black and white tones reveal the details in the stones and trees very well.

Thanks Lois, I didn’t do much to this just a little dodging and burning on the foreground stones.

Thanks Stuart, It was the all the lovely mosses and lichens on the stones that caught my eye when wandering around among the graves, it was just a question of how best to show them.

Thanks Jacqueline, this is pretty much as I envisioned it at the time. :)

Thanks for the awful pun Trudi, lol. :) If you could see the view from here, overlooking the Yorkshire Dales, I think you might change your mind. Unfortunately I don’t have any decent shots as I was shooting into the sun and they didn’t turn out too well.

Thanks Elana, a low winter sun helped a lot with the good light on this. :)
