Wow! It is finally raining in Perth. I love to capture the rain drops running down the old boat hulls at Maylands Boatyard.
I have been working on making a series of abstract images from boats at a local boatyard in Maylands where old boats in dry dock are brought back to life.
Congratulations, Andrew! You’ve been featured in Abstract Lines on April 28, 2011!
I can only marvel at the otherworldly nature of this shot. The alien landscape of the hull and the spheres leaving either newly created land or empty space in their wake leaves me at a loss for words. I guess it doesn’t rain much in Perth, huh? If not, I wonder if when rain does come if it’s as much a wonder and relief as what you’ve done here.
This is absolutely magic: the colours, the light, the shape of the drops, and of course the mysterious path of the drops defying gravity! Outstanding! great luck for the challenge!
