What a great shot! I’ve tried to get lightning shots and it just hasn’t worked, hundreds of pictures of black is what I get. (think I need a tripod). I love the colours in this. Congratulations on getting it into the calendar.

nope, this is all one image. The only adjustments i made were to the exposure and white balance of the RAW file, and then added the slightest of sharpening layers to it

Hey there, sorry i never, saw this comment before. It was a 30 second exposure at around f22 from memory. when i get some proper time I’ll look it up. it was definitely 30 seconds though.

I remember that storm – you’ve captured it so well, you can almost see the ionization in that blue-on-blue near the lightning itself. Any wonder it was included in the Channel Ten Weather Calendar! A magnificent shot. It doesn’t completely rely on nature – you were there to witness it!
