Please view this cute little face large for full effect….Day two with our new little arrivals…. This look says it all for me….
The Mallard was one of the many bird species originally described by Carl Linnaeus in his 18th-century work, Systema Naturae, and still bears its original binomial name. Unlike many waterfowl, Mallards have benefited from human alterations to the world. They are very adaptable, being able to live and even thrive in urban areas which may have supported more localized, sensitive species of waterfowl before development. Mallards of all ages (but especially young ones) and in all locations must contend with a wide diversity of predators. Panasonic Lumix FZ200 soft focus added October 2012 Southland New Zealand.
