A freezing cold morning after a heavy Hoar frost, the little Silver-Eyes gather to replenish their energy to survive the bitter cold. The Hoar frost floats through the air for a brief moment as the Silver-Eyes land on the branches like sparkling fairy dust falling to the ground. The heat of the sun creates steam as it warms the frozen branches and highlights the breath of the birds in the air. Arguments break out; friends are chased off just in case there is not enough to go round… they never stop chatting. The angry birds spend more time chasing one another than they do eating… The apples froze solid over night, not sure how they managed to eat them, but they sure are delightful to watch… Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 Southland NZ June 2012
