Gosh Mum… The Grass Is Hiding Under A White Blanket…
For many Southlanders winter woollies were but a distant memory packed away and forgotten till next winter, we headed into spring then summer with bright blue skies and sunny days. The gardens were looking amazing, the birds were making babies and the bees and bumbles were enjoying the pollen feast…. with blooms, blossoms, and fresh new leaves everywhere… Last night it began to snow, who would have believed it… We woke to a winter wonderland this morning, the beautiful garden took on a different beauty covered in white. My heart goes out to all the little wild birds that have just hatched or fledged… they will be very un-prepared for this wintry blast. So out come all the bird feeders once again to help them through this cold snap. Dinky duck who has grown so much experienced her first snow this morning.. she did not appear to be too fazed as she jumped in to her ice crystal pond.
