Geeez..It's Freeeezing Out Here!!! - Silvereye - NZ by

These little guys are so full of character, they come up with such funny stances and looks on their faces. One can’t help but smile. We had a little more snow fall over night, and it was amazing to watch the hungry birds swarm down on the food I put out this morning. The poor wee things, the little food that is out there was covered in a thin layer of ice.

My fascination with birds began as a child and almost 50 years down the track my love for our feathered friends has not diminished. Once we moved to Tranquillity (our little country retreat) my passion for birds, all nature and wildlife became a digital reality through the lens of my camera.

Oh those poor little ones, hopefully soon the weather will be better again. Great capture.

  • Thank you for taking the time to post a lovely comment, much appreciated Katrin. I guess we all have to go through the winter months including the birds. Some will make it and others won’t, but I do what I can to keep them in food with it is cold.

Excellent image. does the apple not freeze so hard it is hard for them to eat?

  • No the apples do not freeze, it may be cold but it does not get to that type of temperature. They seem to manage them very well. Thank you for taking the time to post a lovely comment, much appreciated Byron
