We have a few hundered little sparrows, (or so it seems) along with other birds that line up in the trees, along the fence and on the gate waiting for me to get up in the morning with their seed. Something I love doing for our little feathered friends in winter, there is not much food around for them this time of the year. In return they provide me with hours of entertainment as well as photographic opportunities. This capture is probably one that could never be repeated again, the rooster just happen to be in the background while I was taking shots of the sparrows, and it was not long after this that the chooks spotted the seed and joined the sparrows feast. I have not tampered with the image aside from adding a little colour in Picasa. Every now and then I manage to capture an image that makes me go WOW!!, for me this is a Wow!! capture, I am thrilled with it, and it has now become my desktop. I don’t think I could get the same capture again.

The Israelites, under King Saul, face the Philistines in the Valley of Elah. The boy David is bringing food to his older brothers who are with Saul. He hears the Philistine giant Goliath challenging the Israelites to send their own champion to decide the outcome in single combat. David tells Saul he is prepared to face Goliath and Saul allows him to make the attempt. He is victorious, striking Goliath in the forehead with a stone from his sling. Goliath falls, and David kills him with his own sword and beheads him; the Philistines flee in terror. Saul sends to know the name of the young champion, and David tells him that he is the son of Jesse.
