Unseasonably warm temperatures are confusing birds and plants, hawks are doing aerobatics to impress their mates, which should happen during the breeding season. Swans normally nest from July to October, but the unusually warm autumn temperatures have brought on the early nesting for some. This little wax eye is on one of the plants that usually flowers in spring, the plants were a bit confused along with the birds and the bees, but our warm autumn may have come to and end. Yesterday morning our sun room hit 0 degrees and we woke up to a crisp heavy frost, the plants will be even more confused in Southland New Zealand.
