In some parts of New Zealand there are large tracts of Russell lupins which grow by the roadsides. Their combinations of blues and pinks are a tourist attraction, and the subject of many bus stops for photographers. I was delighted to see some in my garden this spring. I have heard a number of New Zealander’s refer to Russel Lupins as weeds. I think they are amazing and they look wonderful in full bloom. After a rain shower overnight I woke to find tiny drops dangling from the delicate petals with perfect little reflections. Spring Lupins New Zealand
