Southland was covered in a white blanket this morning, not the warming kind, the cold kind. Living in a rural area, these sheep are in the paddock next door, and when I went to take photos this morning I could hardly believe my eyes. I have never seen sheep like this before. I love the snow, and the whole little village was a wonderland, beautiful and white. Sadly though the blanket was not warm enough for some of the baby lambs, and the farmers have lost a few. I believe it happens every year, just when lambing starts, the snow falls.
