Natures white cloak - NZ - Southland by

A wonderland transformed by natures white cloak. There has been lots of snow in Southland, huge winds in Northland causing major damage. A supermarket roof caved in with the heavy snow. But most of all I feel for the farmers, it is lambing season and many of them will loose the babies. Nature is beautiful, but sometimes unkind to new born babies. Our prayers are with the farmers tonight in our rural area.
Panasonic Lumix Model DMC-FZ35 Southland

My fascination with birds began as a child and almost 50 years down the track my love for our feathered friends has not diminished. Once we moved to Tranquillity (our little country retreat) my passion for birds, all nature and wildlife became a digital reality through the lens of my camera.

I saw Invercargill on the news tonight! Your snow looks beautiful and yet, yes, I feel for the farmers.

  • Thank you Alison, it is truly a wonderland, but also distressing for farmers.

Is this your weather at present? Brrrrr… I thought you were appreaching Spring. I always ‘feel’ for the poor animals who are left outside to cope with the bitterly cold weather. Lets hope it warms up for you.

  • It sure is, Spring snow, often happens in New Zealand, thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
