Only 27 Days to GO...

Hi friends…

Just a quick update from “Tranquillity” Sorry I have not been on RB much… it has been a very busy time…. Amazing how much preparation goes into taking a 6 week trip…

27 days to go… and we get wings and fly to South Africa for 5 weeks, then on to Thailand for a week… then home…

I have not seen my family and friends in South Africa for 10 years… and I am sure that the changes are going to be monumental… My brothers & sister have since married and had kids, so I get to meet new family members too… Our daughter and her partner are joining us… our plan is to introduce the Kiwi’s to the African bush (A few nights in the Kruger Park and the Eastern Transvaal) I am sure it will go down a treat…

The rest of the time will be quality time with family and friends… we have 10 years to catch up on… As you can imagine the pressure is mounting… there is so much to do before we make the trip… My large garden has taken 7 weeks to sort out, (weeding, planting, cutting back and adding topsoil and compost) Next is getting the house in order for our guests, making them feel welcome and at home (6 weeks is a long time) We are very fortunate to have a lovely couple from Australia who will be house sitting and pet minding while we are away… Our pets are precious to us and it is wonderful to know that we can go away with peace of mind… Amazing what you can find on the Internet a wonderful service.. They get free accommodation and the use of a car while they mind our precious pets…

The heat is on… so I will be signing off from RB to get my house in order and prepare for out trip…

To all my friends and followers on RB… Thank you so much for your amazing friendship and support, for the wonderful comments you all leave… You are an incredible bunch of people… I look so forward to sharing our trip with you when we return, and catching up on your amazing work… There is so much talent on RB… and I have missed seeing the day to day works over the last few months… I’ll be back…

I leave you with a few images…
Rocky… our new baby Rock Pigeon was rescued after falling from his nest a week ago in the high winds.. He started feeding himself yesterday… a delightful additon to the “Tranquillity” family
