Calf Rearing Is Now Over - Phew

I have so much catching up to do with everyone… Missed all my friends on RB… Here is what I have been up to for the last few months…

Being a Photographer and rearing calves gave great opportunities to photograph the cows, calves and the beautiful rural scenery. The highlight of my days was observing the strange behaviour of a hen living in the calf rearing shed she loved the sloppy kisses of affections from the calves. She allowed them to lick her and at certain times of the day she would deliberately get into the pens to seek their affection. I was able to capture some great moments in the Dairy Industry during calf rearing.

While the work was very physical, I enjoyed every moment and got very fit during the process… We are now caring for a rescued duckling (Daffy…

PLEASE HELP WITH A PRAYER FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL

My dear Redbubble friends… we ask that you please pray for this little girl…

Elysian Shae Morris was delivered at 8:47pm on Wednesday
the 22nd of January, 2014, weighing 8 lbs 6 oz.

Her entry into the world was very challenging, she hadn’t been
breathing and her heart stopped for quite some time. Elysian needs prayers of healing…

Her parents, who are close friends of ours have stood strong with unmoving faith through this difficult time. They are already witnessing miracles, and there are many who are praying with them and us for Elysian’s recovery.

We ask that you please include her in your prayers… we pray for a full recovery. She is a precious little soul..

We thank you for your support, every prayer is a gift…

Our 2013 Trip is over... Dubai, Africa and Bangkok

Our 2013 Trip is over… Dubai, Africa and Bangkok

It felt like we flew half way around the world… Leaving Southland and making our way to Christchurch. We caught our flight, the first leg of our journey took us to Sydney Australia for a stop over then on to Dubai for 2 nights… The desert safari in the 1950’s open air Land rovers was a treat… falconry, camels, dunes, local cuisine, the peace pipe and some belly dancing… And the gold souk was amazing…

2 nd leg of our Journey took us to Johannesburg (Gauteng), a week of catching up and meeting new family members and friends that we had not seen in 10 years… and trying to take in the many changes that have happened since we left… Wow…

3rd leg of our journey, encounters with wild Afri…

I have not seen my family and friends in South Africa for 10 years… and I am sure that the changes are going to be monumental… My brothers & sister have since married and had kids, so I get to meet new family members too… Our daughter and her partner are joining us… our plan is to introduce the Kiwi’s to the African bush (A few nights in the Kruger Park and the Eastern Transvaal) I am sure it will go down a treat&#…

IT COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT "YOU"

Without your support this would not have been possible… there are no words to express my gratitude and heart felt thanks. Yes I could not have reached 1000239 VIEWS in under 3 years without YOU…

I feel so humbled to have so many loyal supporters, friends and tutors on RB. I have learnt so much about photography from each an every one of you… In July 2010 I began the journey with my first camera to capture our little world to share with you.

I am truly at a loss for words…. THANK YOU… This image to me represents your ongoing support, friendship, comments, compliments, and everything I have learnt form you….

2013 A Big Year...

Hi to all our Bubble Friends…

Life is not one of the things we need to complete… Live each day as if it were your last, follow your heart, engage in your passions, embark on new journeys… and celebrate what is right with the world… don’t focus on the bad… take it in feel it and then let it go… We all carry far too much emotional baggage…

2013 is a big year for us at “TRANQUILLITY”… we are expecting big things to happen… it will be a busy time…

I will be in and out of RB for a few months… We have decided to take a 6 week trip to my home country (South Africa) towards the end of the year… After being in NZ for 10 years, it is time to catch up with the family, meet new family members and re-quaint with…

Saving Our Rare And Endangered Feathers...

Thank you all so much for your support, comments and purchases while I was away. It was a hectic month building up to our vacation on Steward Island. What a magnificent piece of paradise… Heaven for anyone who loves nature, birds, walking, hiking, fishing or just chilling out… The Island is beautiful, the people are fantastic, the bird-life is breath taking, the tracks are well maintained and exceptional to walk. I walked approximately 9km each day and was rewarded on each trip, and feel humbled to have seen some of our rare and endangered birds, not to mention getting fit at the same time. I wanted to experience the whole Island, our time was not long enough, so I guess we will have to go back.

I have volunteered my time to DOC (Department of Conservation), they need hel…

Away For A While

Hi Friends…

I will be away from RB for a few weeks… The garden needs attention again now that spring is here, then Keith and I will be taking a much needed vacation, we have not been away in three years… It is time…. Steward island here we come…

Stewart Island offers a special experience – a glimpse into a simpler, slower lifestyle, in rhythm with the sea and the tides, attuned to the natural world of bush and beach. It has special qualities – its clear, clean waters, the lush rainforest, sweeping sands, flora and fauna and the unspoilt natural beauty that are constant in our lives. Ulva Island is a pristine forested island situated within Paterson Inlet. It is managed by the Department of Conservation and supported by the Ulva Island Charitable…

In Loving Memory....

I walked into the lounge today… a sad day for our family… I smiled when I saw D-Pax sitting on my departed sister Claire’s cremation chest… today eight years ago she died in a car crash..

Our identities and the nature of a place are one and the same, what changes in nature is restored with one wheel of a season, what comes from the earth always returns. Memories of our lost and beloved Claire recede and return like waves moving on the great ocean of the heart…it sometimes feels like one heart beats length of time stretched in my memory.

A distant past crashes through barriers of time into its own future, and images of my sister tumbled and turned in my mind like leaves on a wave of wind. D-Pax reminds us every day that we should show gratitude for the fragi…

Delayed Trip In Christchruch

Update…. My trip to Christchurch has been extended…. All was going well till 4am last Wed. Morning. We had to rush our daughter to A&E… She was in extreme abdominal pain throwing up, dizzy spells and a cold sweat….

I dragged old and stale clothes on, forgot about my head of wild hair un-brushed, my only thought was getting her some help. I watched the doctors and nurses prod and poke my child with their hands and needles, saw the pain in her eyes as she tensed up making her veins hostile to the invasion of the syringes… Even though my little girl is 24 years old, she is still my little girl…

The diagnosis was a severe case of pancreatitis caused by a gall stone that had blocked the duct. The pancreas did not recognise the enzymes so it began eating…
