My work is based on my experience in the landscape, particularly the duality of euphoria and fear I felt whilst spending time alone in an isolated part of North Wales.I paint from a heightened perspective, as if looking down onto the land. I find this allows me a certain amount of freedom that a traditional perspective would not allow me.
My work is an abstracted representation of the landscape.
The emphasis is on the journey, and travelling through, recounting memories, feelings and thoughts. The spiritual ‘primal’ connection I feel is an important element in my work.
