I have always been involved with the arts in one way or another, but always different forms of art; never one solid theme or preference.

It always appeared that there would never be a constant theme with my art, and it took me a long time to realize that never having only one form of art, was in reality my own form and style of creativity.

I studied music faithfully for years and became profficient until I was struck with an illness that was rendering me partially deaf. Later I undertook writing in college as a young adult and gained a diploma in creative and journalistic writing; yet a few years later I often wonder where my writing skills are.

Traditional art became my love for a long time, and still is. I studied with many different teachers at different times, but never overly long where I felt I could have painted ‘like them’ and lost my own personal touch.

A few years later, and I saw Adobe Photoshop. That was it. No more mess, and no more paint.

I undertook a long study of Digital arts and learnt Photoshop as well as Corel Painter. But the smell of the oils, or the feel of pencil on paper can never be forgotten; and not even my beloved Cintiq can overtake my love for all the smells and mess. Sometimes, I even combine the two.

Last year I took an advanced photography course and enjoyed it immensely. Since then, my life has been literally filled with all different forms of art, and yet I need them all.

I have always likened art; anyone’s art, to a form of silent communication of emotions, and believe that within each of us is an artist that resides and dwells.
