Crikey the Turkey Vulture by David Orr

Available to buy on…

I’ve been fascinated by Turkey Vultures ever since moving to South Central Indiana in 2004. I love watching them socialize at abandoned quarries, gather by the university stadium after football games to scavenge the leftovers of tailgate parties, or simply soar overhead.

Crikey is a resident at Indiana Raptor Center, a local rehab organization I volunteer for. She can’t fly and has a foot maimed by frostbite, but soldiers on. This is my tribute to her.
