You’re never too young or too old for the knowledge of happiness. At any age it’s nice to look after the weal of the soul. Who holds that there is still time to devote to the knowledge of it, or that it is too late, it’s as if he were saying it is not yet time to be happy, or that has now passed the age. From young as from old it is right that we dedicate ourselves to know happiness. In order to feel forever young when we are getting on in years under the grateful memory of happiness had in the past, and young, hardened in it, to prepare us to fear not the future. So we try to know things that bring happiness, so that when it is all we have, or everything we do for it.
