I was in New York just last month, and we visited the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero on the same day.
It was dark and rainy, and a little surreal.

Would have sent shivers down my spine standing in that same spot Angie. It must have certainly been surreal!!

It was quite a sight Craig, I’m glad we got to see it before they rebuilt — the immensity of it is very moving.

Love your pics and thanks for sharing the story!
I dug up a 2 cent coin in the garden on the weekend!

love the shots you have taken, does pose a question though! should they rebuild at ground zero or should they leave it as is?

Hi, I was there with my children about 3 years ago and I was pregnant again too. I could barely contain the emotion I was feeling, standing on the sidewalk with my husband and children close by. Listening to the ‘commentators’ shouting the statistics of that terrible day, but I had to because I didn’t want to attract attention as it all seemed so silly, me, so emotional…I didn’t know anyone who lost their life so why was I so upset?? I have thought about it on and off over the last few years and have also added yet another child to our family. I think I was so upset because quite simply everyone who was involved in Sept 11 was someones family and the thought of losing mine like that was just too hard to process. Its an amazing place, I love New York, what a resiliant city…I must go back…your photos and words have heightened my desire to visit again Thanks :)
