Isabella Butterfly by Bekah Reist

Photographed at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory.
Niagara Falls, Ontario. Canada.

The Isabella is found in Brazil and north to the West Indies and Mexico. Occasionally, some migrate to Texas. They inhabit subtropical forests, scrub, or bushy fields. Adults feed on nectar, and roost alone under leaves at night. Caterpillars feed on passion vine.
