The North West of France has the highest tides in Europe. I was walking the floor of the Channel, as the sun was behind me. The tides go out about 3.5 miles/ 6 Km. It is always amazing to see the different textures, in the sand and back to land.
I found this lonely buoy waiting for the tide to come back. I was very focused on taking this image that I did not pay attention to the tide just behind. I kept my eye sharper then my ear. When I finally looked behind me the water was about 5 cm away from my foot. Just one more picture!
That red buoy makes a great subject due to its eye catching colour and your very good placement in the frame. I really like the way the depth of field gradually drops off yet still ensures we see that intricate detail in the rope. A very good exposure in lovely light has rendered a very attractive image with well controlled highlights and contrast and wonderfully natural colours.
