Having withdrawals from not posting.. I could not resists any longer.I watched this fella for over an hour.. lucky for me the city was working on a pier close to the Norfolk zoo. I was able to wedge myself in between two timber piles and watch him hunt his meals. He started with an appetizer of cray fish, and a crab leg and seemed to hit the jack pot with this soft crab. I was so excited I blurred some of the shots! It was a thrill for me.

Excellent work Angel, I’ve gotta say you’ve gotten a lot closer than I’ve ever been able to get to one of these birds.

  • Thanks J D:).. I was sweating..I had the lens at 28mm and could hardly get all of him in the frame. I tried it maxed zoom at 200 and ended up with just a beak shot.. and one of just the leg where it met the water:) I probably will never be that close again.
