Wow that is amazing, lovely colours and composition!

It is always a treat to see the scarlet red skies, here on Maui they occur about once every two months. It is so beautiful!

Unfortunately the times they have occurred on Maui I have been gazing in wonder at the spectaculary sky from our lanai with no time to get to a good location for the shot. You know how it is, one would have to be out every single evening and time and responsibilites do not always cooperate. I do many beautiful golden sunsets, and a spectacular sun pillar taken in Interior Alaska. There was one evening Jacob and I were driving upcountry as the sun was setting over West Maui and the scarlet red colours appeared in the sky so deep and so vivid it was absolutely astonishing!! I did have my camera with me but from Baldwin Avenue between Pa’ia and Makawao there are no places to get a good shot. ‘Ae, it was wonderful to see and how I wished I was on Polo Beach or Ka’anapali at that moment. It was truly apocalyptic!!

This is nice, I used to live in Elizabeth City, NC. Brings back memories for me.
