This summer I saw a Montezuma Quail for the first time. He was walking around with his wife through all the rocks and dry grass near Fort Davis, Texas. I thought he was really beautiful so I thought he would be fun to paint. There were a lot fires in the area last spring so it is amazing that he even made it. But life goes on I suppose.
